In reviewing developments of the last week, from the riots in the U.S. following the murder of George Floyd, to the escalation against Russia and China, as well as the ongoing coup effort against U.S. President Trump, Helga Zepp LaRouche repeatedly returned to prophetic comments made by her husband, the late Lyndon LaRouche. She began by reminding viewers that he commented at the time of Donald Trump’s election in 2016, that this was not a “U.S. event, but one of strategic significance,” associated with the breakdown of the old paradigm. Trump’s efforts to achieve cooperative relations with Russia and China drew a continuous assault against him by those who are escalating the drive for war today, from Ian Brzezinski and NATO General Secretary Stoltenberg, to the former Defense Secretaries attacking Trump over his handling of the riots, when all of them favor the wars which he is trying to stop.
She made this point in a powerful section, discussing the comment by the former Ambassador to the U.S., Jacques Bacamurwanko, that those who persecuted LaRouche should “Get their knee off Lyndon LaRouche’s neck.” She spoke of this statement in the context of the announcment by the Swedish government that they have solved the murder of Olaf Palme, which had been claimed, at the time, to have been caused by LaRouche. The Swedish government, and NBC News, which pushed this, owe an apology to LaRouche. This was part of the effort to stop LaRouche, who had been leading the fight for a new credit system, to replace the bankrupt financial system. As the bankruptcy of the system is becoming more evident, with the incredible collapse of manufacturing in the U.S. and Europe, we can now change the economic system, as LaRouche had insisted for five decades. This will be the subject of the June 27 online conference of the Schiller Institute.
Another crucial point she developed was how the Greens in Germany have become the war party, at the same time they are pushing their policies which will result in drastic depopulation. She developed such insights to make a subsuming point: one cannot act coherently to combat the injustices in the world today without grasping the “larger picture,” to start from the top, as Lyndon always demanded.
We have come to the point where the citizens of the United States need to recall the best tradition of their history: the American Revolution, the War of Independence against the British Empire, the principles expressed in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and the principles of the American System of economics as developed by Alexander Hamilton, Henry Clay and Henry C. Carey.
The essence of all these aspects of U.S. history is very clearly stated in the Preamble to the Constitution:
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. “
This intention of the Constitution, expressed in the preamble, to promote the general Welfare not only for the present generation, but also for all future generations, contains an implicit rejection of the so-called “shareholder value” policy and the unbridled free trade of globalization, promoted then and now by the British Empire, which has not only widened the gap in the United States itself between a caste of increasingly rich billionaires and the growing numbers of the impoverished, but is also responsible for the catastrophic underdevelopment in so-called developing countries.
Clearly, the world will never return to the status quo that existed before the coronavirus pandemic broke out. We are at an absolute turning point in history, where we will either be able to put the world in order with the program we have outlined in these pages, to defeat underdevelopment, or we are threatened with plunging into a dark age. The phase of unrestricted globalization, which the protagonists of a unipolar world have attempted to implement, in particular after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, and which led to a global wave of protests, including the election of Donald Trump, is over for good.
Lyndon LaRouche had forecast the catastrophe now unfolding before our eyes in all its aspects, from his characterization of President Nixon’s disastrous destruction of the Bretton Woods system in 1971 and his forecasts of the danger of pandemics resulting from the monetarist policy, to the systemic collapse of the financial system. During the same time, spanning half a century, he presented an unprecedented number of solutions for overcoming the crises in the United States and internationally, and it is in that same spirit that the program herein has been conceived.
Any honest person who reads these analyses and programmatic proposals today, in light of the current pandemic and the destruction of the real economy, will conclude that Lyndon LaRouche was a man of providence. The idea of providence is not meant here in a strictly religious sense, but in that his entire method of thinking was so highly in accordance with the principles of the physical universe, that his analyses and creative proposals were of a tremendous, almost prophetic precision. He thought and worked “in tune” with the intention of the universe, and if correctly understood, of the Creator.
Therefore, the greatest crime committed against LaRouche by his unjust jailing and lifelong vilification by that same McCarthyite apparatus that is responsible for the ongoing coup attempt against President Trump, is not only the outrageous injustice done to LaRouche personally, but above all that it has made it extremely difficult for Americans and others around the world to have access to these solutions. In many ways, the enormous hardships that the population now endures due to the combination of pandemics and the economic crisis are the result of the political persecution of this extraordinary thinker. And unfortunately, his warning that no one would be safe if his persecution were tolerated has been borne out. When one considers, for example, how General Flynn has been and will be prosecuted, the famous quote by Martin Niemöller comes to mind: “When the Nazis came for the Communists, I was silent; I wasn’t a communist. When they locked up the Social Democrats, I was silent; I wasn’t a social democrat. When they came for the trade-unionists, I was silent; I wasn’t a trade unionist.”
It is past time for Lyndon LaRouche, the man and his ideas, to be fully exonerated, and I personally call on President Trump to do so.
But Lyndon LaRouche’s ideas are alive, as this program for the creation of 1.5 billion new, productive jobs worldwide underscores. The United States has now reached a breaking point in its history, where the ideas in the tradition of the pledge of the U.S. Constitution will be realized, or the financial reconquest of the American colony by the British Empire will plunge the entire world, together with the United States, into a dark age. This is the time when the demand that Nicholas of Cusa, who had already laid the foundation for the American Republic back in the 15th century with his works, set out in his Concordantia Catholica, has become a question of survival for the entire world. He established that the only legitimate basis for a nation’s existence is its commitment to the common good of all nations, and to such a relationship among all nations. Precisely that was the intention of Benjamin Franklin, of the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence against the British Empire. It was also the foreign policy conception of President John Quincy Adams, that the United States should be part of an alliance of completely independent sovereign republics, linked together by a common idea, and that America was not called upon to “go abroad in search of monsters to destroy.”
The key to building such an urgently needed alliance today is positive cooperation between the United States and China. The coronavirus pandemic has made it undeniably clear that the hollowed-out combined industrial capacity of the global economy is nowhere near sufficient to feed and to sustain in dignity the world population today. Cooperation between the two largest economies in the world is therefore an essential prerequisite for overcoming the impact of pandemics, starvation and poverty in Africa, Latin America, parts of Asia and even regions in Europe and the United States.
Although, thanks to the manipulations of the British secret services and Anglophile politicians in the U.S., a great deal of damage has been done to the U.S.-China relation through the “blame game” regarding the origin and handling of the coronavirus, and although the current “China-bashing” evokes the darkest memories of the McCarthy period, constructive cooperation between the United States and China not only is absolutely possible, but also points the way toward a new era in human history. This era must be characterized by the overcoming of geopolitics and the promotion of the general welfare of all nations on this planet.
Given the existential problems that many people in America are facing due to the pandemic, there may not be much public awareness of the huge gap that exists between the image the United States enjoyed in the world at the time of the American Revolution and during the presidencies of George Washington, John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln or Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and the United States that has waged endless wars throughout the world since the end of the Soviet Union under the Bush and Obama Administrations. America was once regarded by all republican circles around the world as a temple of liberty and a beacon of hope, as a country whose Constitution served as a model for republican aspirations in many countries around the world. But the admiration and friendship gave way during the Bush and Obama Administrations to fear, or worse, U.S. military power.
It is five minutes to midnight to deliver on the promise for a constructive relationship with President Xi Jinping and China that emerged in the early days of the Trump Administration. Given the complete discrediting of “Russiagate” and the likely legal proceedings against the British-inspired coup plotters, nothing stands in the way of constructive cooperation between the United States and Russia, as has been indicated between NASA and Roscosmos. If the U.S. now takes the lead in the economic reconstruction program and the creation of 1.5 billion productive jobs in the world, and helps to make the New Silk Road become the World Land-Bridge, then the United States will regain the place it once had in the eyes of the whole world: as a pioneer of freedom and hope for all mankind.
In Helga Zepp LaRouche’s year-end webcast, she opened by reviewing the most significant developments of the last weeks, and what these mean for the year ahead. She highlighted the positive potential for the deepening of cooperative relations among Presidents Trump, Putin and Xi:
1. The promise of the Trump-Putin relationship can be advanced by Trump’s participation in events commemorating the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism. Also of importance will be talks on arms limitations, as Russia now can deploy the Avangard hypersonic missile system, making existing U.S. counter strategies obsolete;
2. Improved relationship with China, beginning with Phase I trade agreement. This is targeted by the geopoliticians, who see the rise of China as a threat, with the Economist presenting the British war plan in their last issue.
She also spoke of the dirty tricks being run by Democrats on impeachment, which risk the party’s future; and of the Sword of Damocles dangling over the financial system, which requires the implementation of LaRouche’s Four Laws to avoid a crash.
In conclusion, she spoke of how these dangers and opportunities bring us to recognize the absolutely unique contributions of Lyndon LaRouche, especially his scientific contributions which refuted the imperial neo-Malthusianism which is pushed by today’s fascist geopoliticians. His “There Are No Limits to Growth” is essential reading for those serious about overcoming the anti-human green policies pushed by financial figures such as Carney and Lagarde.

HARLEY SCHLANGER: Hello, I’m Harley Schlanger from the Schiller Institute: Welcome to our webcast with our founder and President Helga Zepp-LaRouche. Today is Dec. 31, 2019, the last day of the decade, and what would hopefully be the beginning of a new year, with a bright future for mankind. But that’s still questionable. As we’ll be discussing today, there’s a great opportunity, but the dangers that continue with the geopolitical doctrines that are popping up everywhere.
So, let’s start with the situation with Russia, Helga, because there were what you described as “baby steps” taken with the most recent Trump-Putin discussion. Where do you see this going?
HELGA ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I think that people at the beginning of the year, which will be tomorrow, always start with deeper thoughts than usual: Where should this year go? What should be accomplished? What are the dangers? And I think President Xi Jinping, in his New Year’s speech of today, actually, said that the coming year will be a milestone year. And I would even take it a step further: I say, that everything will depend on what will happen with the impeachment process in the United States, which is around the Russia and China question of the relations between the United States and these two countries; will the crash happen? Can we make a reform in time? And by the end of this year, I think a lot of strategic decisions will have been made which will determine if the world is on a way of a big confrontation and possible war, or if we can use this coming year to put the world into order and establish a completely new set of international relations.
Now, it is very clear that the three presidents, Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping, are working in their own way to establish a good relation among these three countries, and I think this is actually the most important strategic question, because once you have an accord among these three countries, I think every other problem in the world can be tackled — not solved immediately, and it’s not overcoming all difficulties, but you have the precondition that you can solve the strategic questions.
Since you mentioned the first “baby step,” or one of the baby steps, I think it’s quite important that Trump and Putin had another very useful telephone call, where Putin thanked Trump for having provided information which helped to not have a terrorist attack over the New Year period in St. Petersburg; two Russian nationals were arrested as a result of it, and the head of the FSB, the Russian secret service, reported that there has been in the recent period an intensification of collaboration among these security forces. So this is very, very positive.
Also, I would think that, reflecting a direct intervention by Putin with tacit approval of Trump, the fact that the situation in Ukraine is easing up a little bit: There was a prisoner exchange between the Kiev government and the Donbas region. There was a treaty between Russia and Ukraine that for five years, there will be the delivery of natural gas through Ukraine to Europe, so these are baby steps which are going in the right direction.
But I think the really big question which is coming up in April and May is the 75th anniversary of the defeat of Nazism; and there, you have naturally, the big event, the 75th anniversary celebration on May 9 in Moscow, to which Putin repeatedly invited President Trump, and Trump basically expressed great interest to go there, even if details have not been decided. But there is also on April 25, the meeting at the Elbe, and this has a very big emotional importance for the Russians, because this was the first time at the end of World War II, where the U.S. and the Soviet soldiers met at the Elbe, and this was a very difficult moment, but a moment which turned into great joy, and it has an enormous significance: Because simple soldiers were embracing each other and made a solemn commitment at the Elbe that they would put all their efforts in trying all they could that something so horrible as Nazism and the Second World War would never ever happen again. And they invoked the “Spirit of the Elbe,” to say that this is something where all nations of the world — not just the United States and Russia — but all nations of the world should really think that from now on, all conflicts must be solved peacefully.
There will be a big celebration for two days [April 24-25] in Torgau, and also there, Putin has invited Trump to attend. And I think that given the fact that this is really a way of improving the relationship between Russia and the United States, on the highest level, namely, with a solemn commitment to never have war again, that we actually really want to support this idea for Trump to go to both these events — and all other leaders and people of good will. Because 75 years after World War II, it is time to return to this idea of “Never Again!” to never again have Nazism, to never again have conflict resolution through war. And since Trump is committed to ending the endless wars, and, obviously, not have a big war with the Russians — I mean, he has said that the disarmament discussion around nuclear weapons is the most important strategic question number one; I think the Russians recently have proposed to even include their new, hypersonic missile, the Avangard, which has been now made operational, to include that in the New START discussions, which I think is very, very important. Because the development of these hypersonic missiles is really upsetting the applecart of the effort to have a global missile defense system which includes the illusion of fighting and winning a limited nuclear war, which is completely upset by this Avangard missile, because it does not follow a ballistic trajectory and therefore it totally tips off the missile defense system. And the Russians now offering to include that Avangard in the New START Treaty negotiations, I think is an absolutely important signal and signal for hope.
I think that the U.S.-Russia relationship is coming center stage in this coming period in April-May, and I would appeal to all people of good will to agree and stop this Russophobia, stop this demonization of Russia, and understand that the improvement in the relationship between these two largest nuclear powers is the absolute first precondition to maintaining world peace.
SCHLANGER: The other key relationship you talked about is that between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping of China. It appears as though there will be a meeting in January to finalize the phase one of the trade deal. There are a lot of important things coming out of China — I know that one of the things President Xi spoke about in his New Year’s address was the importance of lifting 10 million more people out of poverty during 2019. Helga, how important is it that this trade deal go ahead. And it’s clear that this is really a sticking point with the geopoliticians that are doing everything they can to stop the Trump-Xi relationship, just as they have to stop the Trump-Putin relationship.
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Obviously, that is the big problem for the geopoliticians, because the rise of China is regarded by them as a threat to their geopolitical control of the world; while Xi Jinping again offered in his New Year speech that the Belt and Road Initiative is open for all countries — and that includes, obviously, the United States. So I would really urge people to read this speech by Xi Jinping themselves, because it’s a very impressive review of the accomplishments of China in the year 2019. I cannot even go through all the aspects: you know, the beefing up of the various economic development zones, the Beijing-Hebei-Tianjin triangular which is a complete overhauling and modernization of the Beijing area. then the area of Guangdong-Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zuhai-Macao-Hong Kong — that region is, despite the troubles in the Hong Kong, actually the motor of the world economy. This is the most advanced technologies anywhere in the world, and the powerhouse of the Belt and Road Initiative. And various other development zones. And he made also a pledge that in 2020, China will fulfill its promise to alleviate poverty in all rural areas and eliminate the last pockets of poverty in China. And given the fact that there are, I think, only 7 million poor people left in China, this is an incredible perspective, and there’s no reason not to believe it, because they have already lifted 850 million people out of poverty in the last decades.
This was a very important speech, and people who are subject to the anti-China propaganda, as well as the anti-Russia propaganda, should read that speech of Xi Jinping, and just think about it, and think what it means for not only China, but for the world as a whole, that China is taking such a constructive role.
Now, obviously, this is a thorn in the side of the British Empire, which has shown its face in Hong Kong in the most clear way, because British colonialist powers still think that Hong Kong should belong to them. And there was an article, actually only a couple of days ago, in the London Economist, which I also would encourage people to read, because sometimes you have to read crucial pieces to understand — and this is sort of a war game plan for what the British want to do in respect to Trump and China in the coming year. They say: Well, on the one side, nobody can really say that Trump is not a hawk, because, after all, in the 2016 campaign, he was very anti-China, he imposed tariffs, he imposed sanctions in the context of Huawei, but, really, he does not blame China for the trade deficit; he actually says that the Chinese leaders were smart to use loopholes, and so forth, and this would create a gap between him and his own officials, who obviously do have a much more hawkish attitude against China than Trump.
But then they say, gleefully, well, you know, events in the coming year will drive Trump into a cold war confrontation with China, because when the Hong Kong riots continue, eventually the mainland troops will have to “crack skulls” (and they use this martial language), then the Republicans in the U.S. Congress will side with the Democrats to impose sanctions on Chinese officials and taking away the special status of Hong Kong in terms of trade relations; then the human rights campaign against Xinjiang will escalate; then you will have a Tibet succession fight because the Dalai Lama is already 85 and that is coming close; the crisis with Taiwan will escalate, and also in the South China Sea. And they say, when the financial crisis will get worse, all of these conflicts will actually escalate and that will force Trump to really go into a confrontation with China.
So that is their game plan. And I just remembered, in 2007-2008, when we had the big financial crisis, there were several articles in the British press, and I’m planning to review those, where they said that, OK, it’s impossible to have regime change against the communist government in Beijing, but, if there is a global financial crisis again, then all these separatist tendencies, in Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, Taiwan, all of that can be escalated, and then the mainland government will lose control and we can replace them.
So that is their intention. I think this is an evil, geopolitical design. I don’t think it will function, but one is better off to recognize what is the intention of these forces — . and The Economist is a pretty authoritative publication for the City of London, with or without Boris Johnson. I don’t think the Brexit, which will happen at the end of January, will change that attitude much.
I don’t think it’s a realistic thing, because if you look at China, they’re doing an incredible job, their growth rates are, despite all the efforts thrown against them, still in excellent shape, and one can only wish that the end result of this would be that Trump overcomes his opposition inside the United States and can actually take up the offer of Xi Jinping to cooperate with the Belt and Road Initiative, because that would be the one thing which really would solve most problems in the world.
SCHLANGER: I would say your review of the U.S.-Russia relationship and the U.S.-China relationship is a perfect backdrop to actually understand what’s going on with the impeachment fight in the United States, that this, as we’ve always said, has nothing to do with the so-called issues that were raised in the Mueller report, the Russiagate story, the Ukrainegate story, but has to do with these broader geopolitical issues.
And now, we see the absurdity of Pelosi, arguing that they had to rush the impeachment through the House, because every day Trump stays in office is a grave threat to national security; and then, once they get the Articles of Impeachment, withholding it from the Senate trial!
Helga, what’s your sense of where we’re headed with this impeachment fight as we go into January, with the possibility that there will be a trial in the Senate, some time during this next month?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I wish I could give a definite answer on that, but, normally you would say, Nancy Pelosi has no case, she has no proof that Trump pressured the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; she knows that she has no proof and that’s probably the reason that she has said that she doesn’t bring the case immediately to the Senate.
Now, however, knowing how these things work, one can only assume that they want to use this time to line up some dirty tricks, like getting certain Republican senators to withdraw support from Trump. There are two operations which have surfaced: One is an operation by William Kristol, who has formed a PAC; they want to do advertisement in the so-called “weak” Republican districts, these are cases where it’s known that they’re not so pro-Trump; they want to have advertisements and try to convince them to abandon the support for Trump. Then you have, naturally, the terrible William Weld, who is a counter Presidential candidate in the Republican Party: He also has said that he’s working on Republican senators.
But it’s not clear. I don’t think this will work, because these Republican senators are also aware, if they turn out to be traitors against Trump, where the public sentiment is still very high in large support for Trump that they could risk their own political careers if they’re not successive. So it’s an iffy game.
I think what Pelosi is doing, she is risking to ruin the Democratic Party; I think it’s very clear that these people are absolutely no friends of the U.S. Constitution. This was pointed out by the constitutional lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who basically said that Pelosi’s maneuvering, to only go to the Senate vote when she thinks she has a majority, that that as such is already unconstitutional.
But this is a coup, the coup is ongoing, so I can only say, be on alert. Our colleagues in the United States are trying very hard to get the various weak points to pop, like the revelations by [former NSA Technical Director] Bill Binney, that there was no Russian hack, that is still at the absolute core of the whole story of Russiagate. Then you have the Barr and Durham investigation, on top of the Horowitz Report, which already established the absolute crimes of the FBI. Now, the Durham investigation, which is a criminal investigation, is much more broad-ranged. It goes through the origins of where did the Russiagate start, who started it. It goes into the cooperation of the U.S. intelligence heads with British intelligence. However, this is going to take some time.
So we are really in a run against time, and it’s very difficult to say how this will end up. If Trump wins, and if the investigations all proceed, a lot of people could go to jail. But on the other side, I can only warn that people are complacent: Because some of the Trump supporters are too complacent because they think that Trump has so much support that everything is OK. But this is an ongoing coup! So, we need to get these revelations of Binney, of people like [former CIA analyst] Larry Johnson, who pointed very much to the origin of the whole thing with this Professor Mifsud working for British intelligence; so all of these leads have to be followed up. And I can only appeal to you to not be complacent, but become active with us.
SCHLANGER: This brings us to the other leading issue that will have to be resolved in the coming months, what you refer to as the “Sword of Damocles” hanging over all of us, which is the financial crisis, the continuing repo operations, the flooding of money, the helicopter funds, and the fact that there’s no solution within the existing establishment position. Where do we stand now with the financial crisis?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: The Fed put into the system over the Christmas/New Year period more than $500 billion, and they announced that they will inject as much money “as needed.” And obviously, Trump has an interest that nothing should happen during the election campaign. I think that the ECB President Christine Lagarde has announced that she will continue what her predecessor Mario Draghi had done, to take whatever it takes to save the euro, which means, more quantitative easing, more buying of state bonds, more injection of liquidity: But that basically means that the system is already at the absolute end, because if you continue with zero interest rates, even negative interest rates, this goes at the absolute expense of investment into the real economy; it eats up the savings of ordinary people because the inflation rate is higher than the negative or zero interest rates.
And, it basically brings the options for 2020, concerning the financial system, down to three options: One, a crash. That can happen because the whole financial system is a minefield, and while the central banks are intending to flood as much money as needed, it could actually happen that somewhere there’s a mistake, and a chain reaction indeed could happen, given the fact that the complexities of the system are such that no central banker, much less any other banker, has an overview any more. The trading in currencies in nanoseconds, and all of these things, means the whole system is a huge casino, run by supercomputers — it’s a completely out of control system.
So either there’s a crash, or, if the central banks continue this absolute massive liquidity pumping in order to avoid a crash, sooner or later, you will have inflation coming to the fore. They always say, this is not the case, because the money creation is just within the financial system and does not enter the realm of real physical goods, but that is not true, because you have bubbles already: You have the real estate bubble; you have the stock market bubble — don’t think that the value of the stocks reflects the actual worth of the firms involved. And eventually, if you keep pumping money like that, you end up in hyperinflation, and as we know from German in 1923, that would mean the complete destruction of the life savings of the normal depositors, normal people.
Then you have, on top of that, the insanity of Mark Carney, who wants to have a regime change: Take away any power of the sovereign governments and replace it with the central banks running the whole affair directly, and going into a green financing: He just give a horrible interview to BBC, which was guest edited by Greta Thuberg, where he said that he wants to have pension funds and others divest from coal and gas-related industries, going into Green finance, going into a “circular economy,” and all of that, means the social explosion which you already see around the globe, will increase. Because if you will force people, through increase of prices, to change their behavior towards “Green” behavior, you help fuel the already-existing mass strike process going on around the globe.
So I think the only third alternative for 2020, therefore, is a global Glass-Steagall, separation of the banks and ending the casino economy. And I would actually call on you, our viewers internationally, to contact us, because we plan to mobilize for this idea of a Glass-Steagall, together with the other Four Laws of Lyndon LaRouche: National banking, New Bretton Woods systems, crash programs for advanced technologies, like fusion power and cooperation in space exploration. And only if we change the economy, according to the principles of physical economy in time, can the first two operations, of either a crash with chaos, or hyperinflation, be avoided. So Glass-Steagall must be brought back onto the agenda.
SCHLANGER: What is clear from this review that you’ve just presented, as well as the options for the months ahead, is the absolute prescience of your husband Lyndon LaRouche, whom we lost in this last year, through his passing. And I think it’s critical, in looking at this, that 2020 is going to be the year of LaRouche’s ideas, if mankind is going to emerge from this crisis. And, as the person who is closest to Lyndon LaRouche, your thoughts on this would be most welcome right now, Helga.
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, you have right now, an unbelievable assault on the population: This Green ideology, which is really a brown ideology in new clothes, tries to convince people that growth is evil and destroys nature, and climate and whatnot. The way how this is discussed is old neo-Malthusianism. We’ve fought this from the very beginning, when the Club of Rome escalated the old British conservation movement, which was really a continuation of the Nazi idea of treating people like animals. So when the Club of Rome published their report in 1972, the Limits to Growth, my husband repudiated that immediately with a very powerful book There Are No Limits to Growth. And I would challenge people to read that book, because it took apart the fraudulent basis on which the Club of Rome had said the world was developing until 1972, and now we have to somehow adjust, and we are in a closed system, and we have to from now on have austerity, zero growth, because the resources are limited.
What my husband developed in this book was the absolute absurdity of this idea, because “resources” are not a fixed thing: What is a resource is always determined by the scientific and technological level with which man is using these materials; whether you have a stone with which you kill your neighbor in the Stone Age, or whether you say, this is a rare earth element and I can make mobile phones and others things out of it, entirely depends on the level of technology. And especially space research makes very clear, that the resources of the Earth are not limited, but that we are in a process of basically using resources from our Solar System, our galaxy, and who knows what beyond that in the future; so what my husband basically in There Are No Limits to Growth is put this whole question on a scientific basis, and obviously, one of the fallacies of composition which these anti-growth people are committing is to make equivalent, just mindless quantitative growth with the qualitative growth whereby human creativity discovers deeper and better principles about the physical universe, and applies them in the form of science and technology.
Right now, I can only say there is an unbelievable brainwashing, where people are really driven into a frenzy about this climate question. There is no question that there are changes in the climate, but it is not discussed out and proven among scientists, what are the causes of it, because there are many factors involving the position of the Solar System within the galaxy, processes on the Sun, many factors, and the anthropogenic aspect of climate change is very, very small, and that needs to be publicly debated.
This will obviously be a big issue in the coming year, and years, and I think that many people in the United States, in Europe, in Africa, in other parts of the developing countries, remember and recognize that my husband was the intellectual counterpole to the City of London, to Wall Street pushing these oligarchical schemes; and they are coming forward. There is a renewed interest in the scientific work of my husband — we are in the process of preparing the publication of his works: And I want to invite all of you to help to spread these ideas. Now, we had in the last year, three very successful memorials for my husband: One in New York, one in Frankfurt, one in Latin America, and I would urge people to look at these — they are on our websites — and get a sense a sense of who Lyndon LaRouche is and why the ideas which he has presented absolutely must be realized in the coming year.

The European Space Agency is working on concrete plans for international cooperation on a permanent Moon village! The U.S. is building upon the Kennedy Apollo program with its Artemis program, and Russia, the U.S., and China all see nuclear-powered spaceships as the right choice for future flights to Mars and deep into space!
The great thing about space travel is that it proves that we are not living in a closed system where raw materials are limited and the murderous views of Thomas Malthus, Julian Huxley, Bertrand Russell, and Prince Philip would be correct, but on the contrary, we live an anti-entropic universe. Space travel is the irrefutable proof that the universe “obeys” an adequate hypothesis of the human mind, that there is therefore absolute coherence between the immaterial ideas produced by reason, and the physical laws of this universe, and that these ideas are the spearhead of the anti-entropic dynamics of the universe.
There have been groundbreaking proofs recently: around 100 years after Einstein’s theses on the existence of gravitational waves and black holes, the change in space-time has now been proven, and shortly thereafter, with the help of eight radio telescopes distributed all over the world, images were made of the area around a black hole whose mass is 6.5 billion times larger than that of the Sun, 55 million light years away at the center of the M87 galaxy. There is still so much to discover in our universe, where, according to the Hubble telescope, there are at least two trillion galaxies! Space exploration opens up a deeper insight into how the laws of our universe work, and what role we humans play in it!
This is the life-affirming cultural optimism that comes with the idea of humanity as a space-faring species, in complete contrast to the contrived doomsday atmosphere which is spread by the apostles of the coming apocalypse—such as Prince Charles and the hedge-fund cover girl Greta Thunberg. Behind the Greta hype are quite vile interests: the trans-Atlantic financial system is facing a more serious crash than in 2008, and the financial sharks and locusts of the City of London and Wall Street are trying one final big deal, to steer as much investment into “green” technology as possible, before the systemic crisis hits.
A closer look at the sponsors of Greta’s extremely ambitious and well-funded agenda, the Extinction Rebellion (XR) and Fridays For Future (F4F), reveals that this movement is being funded by the richest people on Earth, including Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, George Soros and Ted Turner. The fact is that the beneficiaries of the climate hype and the Green New Deal are the banks and hedge funds.
The target of this unprecedented manipulation is you, the children and teenagers of this world! Shouldn’t it make you stop and think, when your alleged “rebellion” is supported by the whole spectrum of mainstream media and the entire liberal establishment? Yet the vile idea that manipulating the paradigm shift of an entire society must begin with the indoctrination of children is nothing new. As early as 1951, Lord Bertrand Russell wrote in his article “The Impact of Science on Society”:
“I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is mass psychology. … Its importance has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda. … It may be hoped that in time anybody will be able to persuade anybody of anything if he can catch the patient young and is provided by the State with money and equipment. The social psychologists of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black. …not much can be done unless indoctrination begins before the age of ten.”
The goal of the apocalyptic scaremongering by people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (“We have only 12 years left!”), or the head of the British Commonwealth, Prince Charles (“We only have 18 months left!”), is an induced radical change in way of life of mankind. Everything that we have understood as progress during the last 250 years should be abandoned, and we should return to the technological level that existed before the Industrial Revolution. But this also means that then the number of people who can be sustained at that level will drop to about a billion or less.
It would mean that developing countries would have no prospects for ever escaping poverty, hunger, epidemics and a shortened lifespan; it would be a genocide of an unimaginably large number of people! If “climate scientist” Mojib Latif thinks that the Western lifestyle can not be transmitted to all people in the world, and if Barack Obama is outraged that many young people in Africa want a car, air conditioning and a big house, then behind that lurks the inhuman arrogance of members of the totally privileged upper class. It is precisely this view by the colonial rulers that is responsible for the fact that Africa and much of Latin America are still underdeveloped, and many hundreds of millions of people have died early unnecessarily.
For the developing world, the pseudo-religion of anthropogenic climate change means genocide, but for the soul of the young people of the world, the cultural pessimism it induces is a poison that destroys confidence in human creativity. When everything becomes a problem and is suddenly laden with guilt—eating meat, or eating at all, driving a car, flying, home heating, clothing, and indeed life itself—it destroys any enthusiasm for discovery, any enthusiasm for that which is beautiful, and all hope for the future. And if every human being is just another parasite that destroys the environment, then quite a few come to the misanthropic conclusions of the mass shooters of Christchurch and El Paso, who in their “manifestos” cited environmental reasons for their actions.
Conversely, the scientific and technological advances associated with space travel are the key to overcoming all apparent limitations of our present existence on Earth. “Terraforming”—the creation of human conditions—then becomes possible not only on the Moon and Mars, but also here on Earth, and in the future on many heavenly bodies in our solar system and perhaps beyond.
In his “Anthropology of Astronautics,” the German-American space pioneer Krafft Ehricke writes:
“The concept of space travel carries with it enormous impact, because it challenges man on practically all fronts of his physical and spiritual existence. The idea of traveling to other celestial bodies reflects to the highest degree the independence and agility of the human mind. It lends ultimate dignity to man’s technical and scientific endeavors. Above all, it touches on the philosophy of his very existence. As a result, the concept of space travel disregards national borders, refuses to recognize differences of historical or ethnological origin, and penetrates the fiber of one sociological or political creed as fast as that of the next.”
Today, we need this culturally optimistic image of mankind, and the passionate love for humanity associated with it as the only creative species known to date! The fact that we can venture into space means that we can overcome the narrow, Earth-bound mindset. “There, in the stars, lies mankind’s entry into the long-awaited Age of Reason, when our species sheds at last the cultural residue of the beast,” as Lyndon LaRouche put it.
It is an incredible privilege to be young now, to reach for the stars and help shape an epoch of humanity that, for the first time in history, can unleash the unlimited potential of our species!
With all signs pointing toward a new financial crash, one which would be bigger than that of 2008, a desperate push is underway by Anglo-American elites to derail the Belt-and-Road Initiative, through targeting China and Russia, and to use the fraud of man-made climate change to convince people there is no alternative but to passively accept brutal austerity and radical population reduction. This is what is driving the Color Revolution in Hong Kong, the dangerous escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, demonstrations in Moscow, and a geared-up mobilization of climate radicals, moving toward terrorism against industrial society.
But there is another alternative, as developed by Helga Zepp LaRouche, in today’s Schiller Institute webcast. The war dangers can be resolved by Four Power agreements, which would include cooperation in space, and by the adoption of Lyndon LaRouche’s Four Laws, which is a pre-condition for making a leap in the physical economic development of mankind. This involves a decisive break from geopolitics and neoliberalism, and moving the U.S. and western Europe into full support for the New Paradigm which is emerging in Eurasia.
Mrs. LaRouche called for an honest debate on climate, along with a campaign to win support for a full Moon-Mars mission, such as that presently supported by President Trump, and as developed originally by her husband, Lyndon LaRouche. We are at a decisive moment in history. Our mobilization can succeed, turning an existential crisis into a new opportunity for the peaceful advance of mankind.
In reviewing the potential of a new epoch in international relations, based on a decisive break with geopolitics, Helga Zepp LaRouche said that it is the “lack of knowledge of the beautiful options we have” which is holding back humanity. People should be asking, “Where should civilization be 100 years from now?” There is already motion in this direction in China, India and other nations, directly tied to developments in space exploration, as “Moon fever” is spreading.
Robert Mueller’s pathetic performance before the Congress last week leads to a legitimate question: Who wrote the report? Who is responsible for Russiagate? Helga Zepp LaRouche characterized the global recognition of the importance of man’s first steps on the Moon fifty years ago as a welcome wake up call, one which can restore the optimism attacked by Green Ideology for the last fifty years. Many nations now have vibrant space programs. Looking into space, and recognizing the reality that there is a huge universe there to explore, is itself a “beautiful refutation of Green ideology.” The Schiller Institute conference in New York was a major breakthrough, as this reality was the basis of impassioned discussion about the potential man opens up, when he takes up the mission of the Extraterrestrial Imperative, as defined by the space visionary, Krafft Ehricke.
Contrast this, with the stupidity of those pushing for confrontation and war against China, or the obvious British drive for war with Iran. These examples of lunacy make evident that the loyalty of the financial oligarchy is to the collapsing system, not the well-being of the human population.

HARLEY SCHLANGER: I’m Harley Schlanger from the Schiller Institute. Welcome to our weekly webcast with our President and founder, Helga Zepp-LaRouche. Today is July 21, 2019: We’re one day after the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing in 1969, which was recognized as an international event then; and then again, yesterday, there was an unleashing of optimism around the world, as Helga had predicted last week on this program. Helga, how do you see the effect of the celebrations that took place worldwide yesterday?
HELGA ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I think it was like Dornröschen has been kissed out of a 50-year sleep. The German is the same as the English Sleeping Beauty, the fairy tale where Dornröschen sleeps and is finally kissed by a prince and wakes up.
So after maybe some 50 years, or 40-years plus hiatus, abandoning the optimism which was associated with the landing on the Moon on July 20th, 1969, this came back in full force. I think the inspiration which comes from the fact that man has been capable, and will be capable of leaving the planet Earth, escaping completely the gravity of the Earth and then going to other heavenly bodies, and now there’s a full spectrum of countries having very ambitious Moon and Mars programs, I think yesterday was really an outbreak of optimism around the world.
Now, in 1969, there were 500 million people who watched live the landing of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. And Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins, who was the third astronaut, who did not step on the Moon, but was in orbit of the Moon at that time; so Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins, and the family of Neil Armstrong met with President Donald Trump, and also they gave many interviews. It’s very important that Buzz Aldrin called for an international alliance for space, for the United States, Russia, China, India, Japan, ESA (the Europeans), all working together, and I think this is the spirit which absolutely must prevail because obviously the challenges to colonize the Moon, industrialize the Moon as a stepping stone Mars missions, which is now on the agenda in the United States, in China, in India: That all requires and it would just make so much more sense for all these countries to cooperate as most of them have done on the ISS. So, I think yesterday was really a phenomenal day, and hopefully that optimism will not go away.
SCHLANGER: One of the important things you were just referring to, is that the discussion included the fact that, while in the 1960s, a lot of the Moon mission was initially a space race between East and West, there’s now much more discussion about cooperation, and this does fit in with what we saw coming out of the Osaka G20 meeting, doesn’t it?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Yes. You had Dmitry Rogozin, who is the head of Roscosmos, he sent a message of congratulation to NASA chief Jim Bridenstine, praising the three original astronauts and all their great predecessors and followers, for having pushed out the boundaries of what man can do, of having dared to enter the unknown, praising this as a unique human quality. Then, yesterday, you had the taking off from Baikonur, three astronauts, an American, a Russia, and an Italian, going to the ISS. You had the activation of the Chang’e-4 lunar mission on the far side of the Moon. The Indian Chandrayaan-2 which is supposed to go to the South Pole of the Moon, has just been pushed back a little bit because of some technical problems, but it will land on the Moon in September. Also the father of the Chinese space program Ouyang Ziyuan announced that China will launch in 2020 its next Mars mission which is supposed to investigate if terraforming on Mars is possible for long-term habitation of the human species is possible on Mars. So I think there is a flurry, a complete explosion of activities.
And for me it is the most beautiful refutation of this insane, Green ideology which is all based on the idea that we are in an Earthbound system where the resources are limited. And the fact that man can go to the Moon, mine helium-3 for the second generation of thermonuclear fusion power, just as one example, it proves that the incredibly huge universe — the Hubble Telescope has now identified that we have, at least, 2 trillion galaxies. Now, that blows my mind: I keep trying to imagine what that looks like, 2 trillion galaxies. I already have a hard time imagining one Solar System, let alone one galaxy: But 2 trillion galaxies?
And if you think that we are just at the beginning of breakthroughs to understand that Einstein’s General Relativity Theory was absolutely correct, because, recently, the existence of gravitational waves was confirmed. The international cooperation among eight countries could make imaging of the black hole. So when we start to go into interstellar space travel, and already when we go to Mars this will be an issue, we will have to deal with these relativistic issues, because we’re leaving 1-gravity zone, going into another one. And all of this brings absolutely exciting, new challenges. And it all proves the Greenies absolutely have no idea what they’re talking about, and they’re just an evil ideology, but they don’t correspond to the laws of the universe, and that is a good thing.
SCHLANGER: I remember, as a young man in the ’60s, the optimism that was unleashed by the space program then. And it was really not just about space, but it was about curing disease, greening the desert, feeding the world, and obviously, the period from the shutdown of the Apollo mission to the present has been dominated by this Green ideology, and that’s why youth are so pessimistic. Do you think this discussion of the 50th anniversary can shake people out of that pessimism then?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, if anything can, this is it. It is interesting that the Harris polling agencies, one of the major polling agencies in the U.S., they took a poll asking pupils in the 5th to 10th grades, in the U.S., in the U.K., and in China, the famous question: What do you want to become when you are a grownup? And it is interesting: In China, 56% of these pupils said they want to become an astronaut; the second largest number was teachers; and then the last issue what people in China wanted to become, is a blogger or a YouTube personality, only 11% wanted to do that. In the United States and in the U.K., it was exactly the reverse: I think something like 30% wanted to become YouTube personalities or bloggers, and then teacher was number two, the same way, and then the third was a professional athlete, and astronauts being very, very far behind. Obviously that poll was done, not being impacted by these celebrations of the 50-year-old Apollo program, but I think it show a trend in China, of 56% of all children want to become astronauts!
That is really because it is very much in the culture, to go to space. China has also built now a Mars artificial dome in the Gobi Desert, and another Mars simulation station near the Tibet-Qinghai plateau, which is 4,200 meters high, so the air is always very clear, and they are building their 30 new telescopes. So I think the Chinese are very clearly on a good trajectory.
And it’s important that this is not about a “race,” who is first on the Moon or on Mars, but I think it is the challenge of humanity to come its true identity that we are not Earthlings — this was always said by my husband, Lyndon LaRouche: The good thing about space is that it proves we are not Earthlings, but we are a spacefaring species, and the very idea that we can conquer any problem which poses itself through scientific and technological breakthroughs, it’s nowhere better demonstrated than in the space research and travel. So I think it is what makes us more human, it brings forward a better quality of personality in us, and it is what the great German rocket and space pioneer Krafft Ehricke, who was very key in the Apollo project; he developed the Atlas rocket, he was the director of the Centaur project, and he developed the most beautiful visions already in the ’50s and ’60s about the industrialization of the Moon as a stepping stone for permanent base on Mars. And he called all of this, that it is the identity of man as [i]Homo sapiens extraterrestris[/i]. And I think that implies that we are really in the beginning of a completely new era of civilization.
SCHLANGER: Not that this would compete with the Harris poll, but I can tell you my two children, the 7 year old and the 5 year old who have been watching this, both announced, one wants to be an astronaut and the other one wants to build rockets. So I think this is catching.
Now, in this context, the Schiller Institute had a major conference yesterday to discuss this: Why don’t you give people a little report on that, because I think all of our viewers should look at this.
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: It’s a major breakthrough because it did bring a very important combination of people together celebrating this event. This was in New York: We had a live video link with a young woman from NASA from the big exhibition on the National Mall in Washington — Andrea Jones — and she gave a live report about what was going on there. There were 150,000 people in the days before already watching this. And she transmitted a tremendous excitement about Moon, the new interest in the entire space program is receiving from especially young people.
Then we had the daughter of Krafft Ehricke, Krista Ehricke, who gave a very beautiful account, how it was to live as a daughter with that great genius Krafft Ehricke. We had other presentations which were extremely uplifting, such as the science attaché of the UN Consulate General of China. He gave a very human idea of how U.S.-Chinese cooperation in space would look like, and he presented an official video about the Chinese space program. Then we had some other speakers, Ben Deniston from the Schiller Institute, and various other speakers, who spoke about Alexander Hamilton as a predecessor in the financing of all of this. And then we had a very lively discussion.
So I would invite people to look at this program which is up already and it’s very inspiring. And you should help to spread the news about this, because people need this kind of optimistic perspective.
SCHLANGER: In talking about China, one of the interesting things, if you take a step back and look at what they’re doing with the space program, with infrastructure, as well as with banking and with credit policy, they are moving very much along what we’ve been speaking about as needed for the United States, with the Four Laws of your husband. This goes right along with the idea of how you lift a nation out of poverty. And at the same time the Chinese are doing this, they’re being slandered in the press, and by thinktanks and by government officials. How do we break that? How do we change that, so people actually see what they’re doing?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Some of these things are really quite outrageous. There was just a three-day conference in Washington, addressed by Pompeo, and Pence, on the so-called freedom of religion, and they trotted the Falun Gong, which is in all likelihood sponsored by the extreme right-wing people like Bannon in the United States, slandering China. And then they naturally talked about the Uighurs in Xinjiang. And it’s very good that just recently 36 countries wrote an official open letter debunking all these slanders, saying what the Chinese are doing in Xinjiang is actually a very effective way of overcoming terrorism, not with bombs and not with military means, like the U.S. has been trying to do in vain, in the Middle East in these last 20 years or so, but by economic development, by giving people an economic perspective. And this is obviously a much superior method.
But this kind of painting China as the enemy is really stupid! It’s very dangerous. There is a new article in the [i]New York Times[/i] just today, a “new Red scare.” In a certain sense, this is really very dangerous geopolitics, making an enemy out of somebody who is neither an enemy nor wants to be an enemy. And obviously, it is [i]the[/i] key strategic question of the next period: Can two large economies like the United States and China, which have different social systems, can they co-exist or not? If not, then how can you prevent the rise of a country which has 1.4 billion people, and which has clear success story of the last 40 years of reform and opening-up, and obviously is very much ahead already of the West in some areas, like the famous 5G network? Like who is on the far side of the Moon? It’s the Chinese, not the West. Who has the fastest, best high-speed train system, connecting almost all major cities, 26,000 km? The United States has not one single track!
So, for the two systems to say they cannot coexist like this new article in the [i]New York Times[/i] reports that Steven Bannon is making that point, saying “one wins, one loses” — now that means catastrophe. Both these countries have nuclear weapons and if you try to contain China by military means, or by economic warfare or go for regime change, it just can lead to a complete catastrophe. So I think this is very dangerous and therefore, the kind of cooperation which is visible, at least between the U.S., Russia and the Europeans on the ISS should include China. China is advanced on the far side of the Moon, so they have offered cooperation, so who can steal from whom in this case?
So, I think it is really important that we think in terms of a new paradigm overcoming geopolitics, because in the age of thermonuclear weapons, any kind of confrontation or thinking that war is a means of conflict resolution can only lead to a calamity for all of humanity. So it should really be regarded as outdated and overcome.
SCHLANGER: Some of the same networks that are engaged in this—I think you’re absolutely right, this stupid anti-China campaign, are still pushing for war with Iran. We saw that the British ambassador was making clear that this is the British plan for the U.S. to go to war with Iran. What’s happened in the last couple of days? And it is the same network, isn’t it, that’s anti-China is also pushing this Iran fight?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: The whole thing didn’t start, but it was escalated by the British seizing the Iranian tanker off the Strait of Gibraltar. Then supposedly the Iranians reacted by seizing a British tanker—it’s not so clear, because it’s being denied by the Iranians all the time, but almost every day you have a new escalation, and more troops are being sent to the Middle East. And the whole Middle East is a complete powderkeg in any case. So I think this is one of the Achilles’ heels. And again, a war against Iran could lead to a big war. I think that has been clear to anybody for a very long time. And the British, especially Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, he says that Great Britain does not want to use “military options,” but you know, it’s nevertheless a very dangerous situation. And I think even the Europeans are trying to cool it, the continental Europeans, that is. But it’s a flashpoint that deserves great attention. And it just shows you, until we have established a new set of relations, like the collaboration in the New Silk Road, these things will keep coming back, because the old order is not filling up by free will, and watch the emergence of Asia rising. Because it’s not just China which is rising, it’s all of Asia. And we need a new paradigm.
SCHLANGER: Robert Ashley, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, came out the other day and said that Iran does not want a war, and it seems to me that there are many in the military who are aware of that. But it’s the non-military types who love war, like Bolton, who are pushing it.
Helga, one of the other events, was the acceptance of the compromise slate for the European Union: Von der Leyen, the German Defense Minister is now the head of the European Commission. Does this have any bearing on what’s going on in the bigger strategic picture, or is this just more of a slide into chaos for the European Union?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, as the result of wheeling and dealing, which really shows that very few people in Europe really have principles any more, she became the head of the European Union Commission. And her speech in Strasbourg was really an incredible speech. She started off with an attack on China, on Russia. She’s known from her being a defense minister, that she is a very hardliner against Russia, but she’s also clearly against China, so this forebodes not well, as long as this EU construct exists in the present form.
Otherwise, she went for a complete Green New Deal: She promised Europe would be the first continent to be CO2 emission free by 2050, that to reduce emissions by 2030 by 40% was not enough; it had to be 50% or 55%. Well, she also said she would make a law—it’s not her job to make laws, in any case—to basically put all of this climate protection into legislation. So this is all very bad, because, if you have an EU legislation and echoed by the so-called “climate cabinet” of the German government in Berlin, who will make legislation which will channel credits entirely into the Green, into the climate protection area, I think this means the end of Germany as an industrial nation.
And this is why I have written an appeal to German Mittelstand, trade unions, teachers, parents, and thinking people, that this policy must be absolutely opposed. Because, this is an operation, it is an effort to implement the Morgenthau Plan against Germany, belatedly. And if these policies that Von der Leyen stands for, and unfortunately also Merkel and the whole German government at this point, if they would be continued to be implemented, it would lead to a disaster for Germany. Young people will emigrate, because there’s no future here, the older people will have less health care which cannot be paid; that’s why, for example, you have to think what the Bertelsmann foundation is advocating, and they’re saying that the 1,400 hospitals in Germany have to be reduced to 600! And they’re saying it’s for better health care—this is a complete fraud. If you want to have better health care, you can make better diagnostic equipment into the smaller hospitals, but not dismantle them. That’s just a complete assault on the living standards.
So I think we are in for hard times in Germany and in Europe, because of this Green policy, but it must be repeated. I think it’s also a strategic danger, because when Asia is rising with high technology, and Europe is on a course of self-destruction, there is no good solution. Out of this crisis can come chaos and maybe even war.
SCHLANGER: It’s interesting to note that the Morgenthau Plan, which was for the full deindustrialization of Germany after World War II, was one that was going to be imposed by the victors of the war against the losers. Now, we have the government of Germany imposing it on its own people: Doesn’t this say something about the psychology of the old paradigm?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, as we have discussed this many times: This is not really an issue of nations against nations, but it’s the issue of an international oligarchy, which has a loyalty to that system, more than to its people. And I think that’s what we see. It’s like the Holy Alliance in the 19th century, where the oligarchy was also more loyal to their system of oligarchy than to their respective countries, and I think that’s exactly what we see right now.
But that system is clearly is collapsing, but the danger is that it can bring in unbelievable danger to the respective people.
SCHLANGER: Well, it seems very clear: You issued a call to action. We had the Schiller conference on the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing, so there’s a program there for people to go out and organize with. How should people take this as their daily opportunity to do something, not just to feel better for themselves, but for the future, for their children and grandchildren?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: First of all, join the Schiller institute. I think it’s important to become a member, to support our activities, also with donations, which we obviously need, because we are not sponsored by Wall Street, or the City of London, as you can imagine. So we need your support, and activation. If you are in the German-speaking realm, help to distribute the appeal I wrote, because I think there is right now a danger of really destroying the industrial base of Europe.
And as I said, this contains the danger—let me just be very frank: If you look at what Obama said in South Africa some years ago, he said: There are all these youth in Africa, but if everybody wants to have a car, if everybody wants air-conditioning, and a big house, then the planet will boil over. So here you have it: What this Green ideology does, it is the last effort of the financial sector to get people to invest in Green technologies; the Green New Deal will bring a profit to a few, the speculators who will become richer. But in the real terms, it means that millions, if not hundreds of millions of people if not more, will have no access to enough food, clean water, energy, education, and a safe life for themselves: So the Green ideology is really about genocide and population reduction, and in my appeal, I mention a famous quote from Lord Russell from 1951, in [i]The Impact of Science on Society[/i], an article he wrote at that time and published, in which he said, in politics, the most important would be mass psychology, how to get the patient, when he is young—meaning you have to get to children under the age of 10—to convince them that “snow is black.” And that method has been used to manipulate the population.
And I think the beautiful thing is that with the whole space program, this is the biggest antidote to the idea of an Earthbound system, and the idea that you can to Mars with solar energy, you can forget! So, I think we are in a very interesting tension between the backward oriented, population-reductionist mafia, the Green Lobby; and the optimistic, future-oriented science lobby, and I would invite you to help us get a real debate! Let’s discuss the origins of climate change; let’s discuss what is the scientific basis for dealing with all problems, including changes in the climate, which have been taking place for millions of years. And I think that that is a debate we urgently need. So contact us, become a member, help to distribute the appeal, and get active with us.
SCHLANGER: Well, there are your marching orders, and I think they’re very straightforward. The new paradigm is there for us to seize and to implement.
Helga, anything else you want to add?
ZEPP-LAROUCHE: No. I think it’s a very optimistic period, because as I said, the Dornröschen sleep is over. A lot of people are absolutely optimistic, looking into the future of mankind with an absolute determination that mankind is the only creative species known in the universe so far. We may discover other ones; we have done that yet, but we are on the verge of making huge breakthroughs in fundamental science, and that is always a reason for optimism.
