Schiller Institute founder and leader, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in reviewing the world strategic situation today, asserted, “Our moment in history is here!” We can be sure, she is not referring to the U.S. elections Tuesday! Not to the voting result, nor the aftermath. Rather, Zepp-LaRouche refers to the undeniable fact that “the old system is crumbling,” and this means, “this is the chance for a new system.”
The Western casino financial/economic, and neo-colonialist system has reached the phase of its own demise, to the point that its once leading nations are themselves in economic and social breakdown. Their own elites are responding with Global NATO warfare and brutality, in their attempt to maintain dominance.
But the human response to the Global North degradation is, instead, for the Collective West to cooperate in the development of the Global South. That is the only way to have a humane solution to the crisis: Build economies, create billions of jobs, cooperate with the Global Majority, whose leadership dynamic is strong and increasing.
Discussion of this will be the focus of an international (online) conference, hosted by the Schiller Institute, Dec. 7-8, on the theme, “In the Spirit of Schiller and Beethoven: All Men Become Brethren!”
This trans-Atlantic decay goes right along with NATO’s expansion and warfare. Contrast that with the concrete examples of support for the principles of development among the Global Majority, especially of the Belt and Road Initiative.
These few, but wonderful examples indicate the boundless horizon for development, once the change in the system is accomplished. This is the historic task. It is already underway in the Global South. But the “miracle” to be made is mobilizing the potential goodness still left among those in the Global North to force into being an outlook of cooperation, and working together the world over, for a future of common benefit. That must be the content of the anti-war mobilization.

In a Monday meeting, Oct. 28, held to evaluate the history-making events of last week—including the Oct. 22-24 Kazan, Russia BRICS summit; the Oct. 26 symposium/concert “Build a Chorus of Peace Against the Ghouls of War,” hosted by LaRouche Independent candidates Diane Sare and Jose Vega; and the Sunday, Oct. 27 “Operation DAWN, Threat of Nuclear War in the World Today” brunch, organized by former U.S. Marines intelligence officer and whistleblower Scott Ritter—Schiller Institute head Helga Zepp-LaRouche, both contributor to and participant in those events, and earlier processes that made the achievements of those events possible, indicated what she believed needed to happen next. “We have to absolutely make clear that the only way how the danger of a Third World War can be overcome, is that we have to get the collective West—that’s the United States and the European nations—to stop their silly geopolitical confrontation against this new majority of the world. After all, the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, plus other nations) as they are now, represents 4.7 billion people, and 57% of the world’s population, and there are many more countries in line waiting to join. And it would be foolish, to the point of insanity, if the West would continue to oppose that.”
During last week’s Kazan BRICS conference, EIR correspondents in attendance had asked Russian advisor to host President Vladimir Putin, Anton Kobyakov, the question: Even if the BRICS is not anti-West, the West is currently anti-BRICS. If this does not change, we have the risk of nuclear war in the conflicts occurring in Ukraine and the Middle East, and a perpetuation of sanctions. Do you see the potential for activities and successes of the BRICS to change the outlook of the Anglo-American elites, to participate positively in developing a new security and development architecture, as proposed by Helga Zepp-LaRouche of the Schiller Institute?” Kobyakov had responded: “Indeed, we hope very much for that—that they will take part in hammering out, so to speak, peace initiatives. Our President talks about that, always. And we even have a nuclear deterrence strategy. The main thing is that Pax Americana, if it collapses—the main thing is that when they collapse, that they not bury all of us under the rubble.”
These are words that Americans should pay close attention to. The United States, presently on the verge of an expanding and potentially even a thermonuclear war with both Russia and China, is also on the eve of a November 5 Presidential electoral result, which will ultimately be unsatisfying, no matter which candidate wins. Two other candidates, neither of them running for the American Presidency—U.S. Senate independent candidate in New York Diane Sare, and Congressional independent candidate in the Bronx (CD15) Jose Vega—stepped into the Presidential policy vacuum, co-hosting a completely unique “international town meeting” on a new foreign and security policy. With its extraordinary set of experts, it focused, not on who is to blame, but rather, what citizens need to do, and what solutions to the present crisis must be made. In that context, the wars in Ukraine and Southwest Asia were addressed as tragic expressions of the lack of a higher perspective, and they identified the path to that higher perspective.
An international audience heard former American military officers of high rank, journalists, and even comedians, in dialogue among themselves, and with Helga Zepp-LaRouche. “These nations of the Global South are already the Global Majority, and they are determined to end the period of 500 years of colonialism, by building a new world economic system which will allow them to industrialize and overcome poverty and underdevelopment,” she said to the Saturday symposium. “They are building a great, New Development Bank of the Global South, a new Investment platform, a new BRICS grain exchange, and other institutions, which will help them to grow. It is the most urgent task for reestablishing world peace that the United States supports this effort. We must remember that the American War of Independence was the first anti-colonial war in history, by establishing independence of America from the British Empire.”
The Ten Principles for a New International Strategic and Development Architecture by Helga Zepp-LaRouche are not only a statement of principle, but a statement of intent, which, if adopted by people in the trans-Atlantic world, would supply the only means by which a collaboration with the nations of the Global South, and the Global Majority would ever be trusted, and therefore realized.

Sixty scholars from 16 countries gathered today in Berlin at a conference on, “The Protection of New and Emerging Rights: Views from China and Europe.” One of the featured speakers was Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of the Schiller Institute, whose comments were prominently covered in China’s Global Times.
Global Times paraphrased Mrs. LaRouche: “It is probably impossible to speak about human rights without addressing the immediate danger to the very existence of the entire human species—war in Ukraine and war in the Middle East, which risk escalating into a global nuclear war. The highest priority for all people must be to rise above geopolitics, and the notion that nations or groups can impose their interests on others by any means is fundamentally flawed.”
Xinhua News Agency also covered Mrs. LaRouche’s comments, but failed to include her warnings of the war danger. According to Xinhua’s coverage, Zepp-LaRouche “praised China’s vision of a shared future for mankind, as well as initiatives like the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, which transcend narrow geopolitical interests to address modern human rights needs.”
This was the eighth such conference, which was started in 2015. This year’s seminar was co-hosted by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and the Central South University Human Rights Center. Organizers for the event included the German and Chinese Culture Foundation, the University of Münster, and the International Academy for the Philosophy of the Sciences.

The assembly of top leaders from dozens of countries next week in Kazan, Russia, may prove to be truly historic, particularly as it contrasts with the devastating decisions being taken by Anglo-American NATO and Israel.
Representatives of Palestine will attend, and they have been informed by their host President Vladimir Putin that Israel’s ongoing assault against them in both Gaza and the West Bank will be the theme of one of the events at the summit.
The fact that justice is coming neither from Anglo-American NATO, nor from the United Nations Security Council as it currently operates, draws greater attention to the BRICS as a meaningful discussion platform.

The world is sitting on an absolute powder keg, as there are now two major conflicts which could erupt at any moment into a global war. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is scheduled to visit Washington this week where he will be discussing a potential response to Iran’s missile attack last week, and at the same time working to bring the U.S. fully into Israel’s war against Iran. Despite the echo chamber that exists in Washington, there are even some voices across the trans-Atlantic that recognize that nothing good will come if this policy is continued—as French President Emmanuel Macron has most recently exhibited in calling for an end to weapons shipments to Israel.
However, after one full year of Israel’s medieval-like barbarity in Gaza, and now in Lebanon, the world is no longer the place as it was. As has been hinted before, Gaza is not only the graveyard of innocent children—it is also the graveyard of the “rules-based order.”
At the same time, Russia’s recent victory in the town of Ugledar [Vuhledar] has unleashed something of a panic in the West, exposing a far more stark reality than is allowed to be shown on the pages and television screens of mainstream media. A conflict which could have been avoided had the neoconservative Russophobes in NATO agreed to negotiations and an acceptance of Russia’s national interests has now become a bellwether of the ineffectiveness of NATO as a whole—at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives and perhaps Ukraine’s nationhood itself.
Western officials are now scrambling on both sides of the Atlantic, as new proposals for a ceasefire in Ukraine are floated and President Biden along with his teleprompter will visit Germany at the end of the week to discuss other options. These will include “Trump-proofing” NATO and the creation of a long-term war footing against Russia. But NATO unity and planning are not looking good, as exemplified by Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico, who has said he will never allow neighboring Ukraine into NATO as long as he is in office.
Nonetheless the danger remains enormous as those committed to defending their doomed worldview are driving the world toward a thermonuclear showdown.
In discussion with associates today, Helga Zepp-LaRouche emphasized that these next four weeks leading into the U.S. November elections are going to be decisive, and will see numerous inflection points as the world is going through this current upheaval. Tensions are likely to only increase—hopefully not to the point of no return—but the outcome is not yet decided. Openings to organize and introduce new ideas about which direction the world must go in will also increase, and it will be an opportunity to build momentum for a principled response to this crisis.

Helga Zepp-LaRouche published an article in German for the big peace rally that will take place on German Reunification Day, October 3rd in Berlin.
The article is entitled: “On the Brink of Nuclear Apocalypse: Germany Needs a New Security Architecture!” and she writes:
“Two regional wars – the situation in Southwest Asia and the war over Ukraine – are spiraling out of control and both could lead to a global nuclear war!
After the assassination of the head of Hezbollah, who has enjoyed the highest esteem throughout the Islamic world, and Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, which has already killed over a thousand people and displaced over a million, the situation is now escalating into a conflagration that could lead to a world war.
Ever more powerful and far-reaching weapons are being supplied for the war of Ukraine against Russia, as if there were no red lines in the fight against the nuclear power Russia.
In response, Putin has now changed Russia’s nuclear doctrine to the effect that it will not only use nuclear weapons if Russia’s territorial existence is in danger [from another nuclear power], but also if a non-nuclear state supported by a nuclear power launches a massive air attack. Nevertheless, certain politicians and the media still talk about Putin only “bluffing”. Vladimir Putin’s patience is interpreted as weakness, which is a potentially fatal misjudgment!
It seems that the memory of the destruction and suffering of two world wars has been erased. ..”
Zepp-LaRouche ends her article with the following demands:
No to American medium-range missiles in 2026!
No more unilateral sanctions!
Cooperate with the BRICS nations!

Declarations and speeches of an unusual importance were made on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the opening of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly Debate. (That did not include the embarrassment of President Biden’s troubled remarks.) While the threat of thermonuclear war palpably loomed over the UN proceedings, addressing that threat in its true form required a strategic upending of the “masters of war,” to seize the moral high-ground before the “collective Zelenskyy/collective Biden” show could gain traction.
A team of 8 LaRouche Movement activists met the steady stream of participants and delegations near the United Nations Headquarters on the first day of the General Debate. Our banners on BRICS and the New Paradigm could be seen by passing traffic and demonstrators across the street. We distributed about 500 leaflets, as well as the Schiller Institute’s “Colonialism is Over” pamphlet.
On the first day on which heads of state and government addressed the UN, the “NATO narrative” was upset and outflanked. In the case of the remarks delivered by Presidents Lula of Brazil, Erdogan of Türkiye, and Ramaphosa of South Africa, and King Abdullah II of Jordan, NATO’s “Israel” population war against the people of Palestine was clearly identified as the actual, central theater of injustice on which the world’s attention must be concentrated, and that must be immediately addressed and resolved—not the NATO/Ukraine “moral crusade against Russia.”
Integrity was shown in this moment by the several of the national leaders. Türkiye, a NATO member, knew that it was criticizing NATO’s support for the mass-murder in Gaza, when Erdogan said, “And those who unconditionally support Israel! For how long will you continue to bear the shame of looking on this massacre, of being its accomplices?” This demonstrated that a line can be drawn, showing the clear difference between the moral as well as strategic priorities of the Global Majority, and those of NATO-world.
The “moral crusade of Ukraine” is, of course, the desired NATO “public relations” focus. The intent is to use Zelenskyy’s upcoming “Victory Plan” speech as the trigger for the United States in “finally deciding” to authorize the deployment of long-range missiles to Ukraine, which will be used to attack deep into Russia. That is the very thing that was said to be off-limits by the Biden Administration in 2022, because it would “lead to a nuclear world war with Russia.” Russia has, in fact, made it clear what its response will be if and when such a decision is made. Sane people in Germany, as seen in the recent Brandenburg state elections, want no part of the “NATO Victory Plan.”

Dr. Chandra Muzaffar Letter to UN Leaders Insists, UNGA Must Act To Stop Gaza Genocide
July 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute founder and initiator of the International Peace Coalition, declares her endorsement of Dr. Chandra Muzaffar’s initiative and calls for international support for it.
Dr. Muzaffar, the President of the International Movement for a Just World (JUST), has posted his letter to the heads of all member states of the United Nations calling for taking emergency action to stop the continuing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories. It is worth reporting at length:
“I am writing on behalf of an international NGO committed to human dignity and social justice based in Malaysia. Like many other citizens groups, the International Movement for a Just World (JUST) is deeply concerned about the continuing catastrophe in Gaza and Palestine. In spite of numerous calls made by people everywhere to Israel to implement an immediate ceasefire and to facilitate the unhindered flow of essentials—water, electricity, food, fuel and medicines—to Gaza, the Israeli government is impervious to any suggestion that it should end immediately the wanton massacre of civilians, especially children and women who constitute the majority of those killed, and ensure that famine does not claim any more lives in that narrow, congested strip of land.
“Since it does not seem to be possible to restrain the Israeli government, we are now hoping that the UN General Assembly and Resolution 377 can be harnessed to curb Israel. The UNGA as you know can be asked to act if the UN Security Council has failed to overcome a prolonged conflict. A special session of the GA can be convened and it can take a vote on the catastrophe in Gaza and Palestine in general.
“It is our hope and the hope of many other citizens groups all over the world, especially the NGO World Beyond War, the initiator of this global campaign, that your government will give wholehearted support to the proposal to adopt [Resolution] 377, or the ‘Uniting for Peace’ Resolution. It will give a pivotal role to the UNGA in bringing to an end the genocide in Gaza. Uniting for Peace can not only impose an embargo upon the flow of arms to both Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian resistance group. It can also disarm both parties to the conflict and send a huge number of unarmed peacekeepers to Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. They will ensure that there is no armed clash in all parts of Palestine and even in Israel until a conference of all parties involved directly or indirectly in the conflict reach an agreement on restoring the full rights of the Palestinians, establishing a state where there is equality for all its citizens regardless of religion or ethnicity and the right of return of all Palestinian refugees is recognised and implemented.
“JUST is confident given your commitment to peace that you will bring [Resolution] 377 to fruition in the coming session of the GA and help the land of the three faiths to enjoy tranquility and harmony once again.”
In solidarity, Dr Chandra Muzaffar, President, International Movement for a Just World”
United Nations General Assembly Resolution 377 (V), adopted November 3, 1950, empowers the General Assembly to override the United Nations Security Council—in this case, specifically the United States—under conditions that the world deems immediate action to be essential, in order to preserve the international peace and security of the world. The United Nations website, regarding Emergency Special Sessions, says that Resolution 377 “resolves that if the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security in any case where there appears to be a threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or active aggression, the General Assembly shall consider the matter immediately with the view to making appropriate recommendations to members for collective measures, including, in the case of a breach of the peace or active aggression, the use of armed force if necessary, to maintain or restore, international peace and security.”

A portion of the concluding statement of the remarkable discussion of the International Peace Coalition (IPC), made by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, hit the nail on the head. The session, entitled the “New U.S. Nuclear Doctrine: Reason for the World to Worry,” first laid out the severely advanced nature of the thermonuclear confrontation. Zepp-LaRouche addressed the root cause of the war drive and, hence, the solution:
“…the underlying reason of the conflict is on the one side, the pending threatening collapse of the trans-Atlantic system sitting on the $33 trillion of U.S. debt, but furthermore, $2 quadrillion outstanding in derivatives which could be detonating at any moment. Then secondly, that the real cause and the change in the strategic doctrines in the U.S. which was then accompanied by a uniform blasting of Russia and China by all the trans-Atlantic think tanks, which really started in 2017. The reason being the rise of China and the rise of the BRI, where China extended the Chinese economic model to other developing countries.…
“As some of you may know, the Eurasian Land-Bridge was our design for a peace order in 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. A lot of what China is doing now is in affinity with what my late husband and our movement did for half a century.
“Therefore, you don’t solve the problem by just making a new defense treaty or disarmament treaty or any such thing. You have to address the root causes, which means you have to have a change in the paradigm.
“I think we can become friends again with not only the Russians, but also every other country in the world or people in the world if we consider that we are the one humanity. Whatever historical, ethnic and other divisions may separate us, we must make the jump to first think about the interests of humanity as a whole, and then go to our national interests. In a certain sense, it’s the opposite of America First. America second, or American in line with humanity first. I think that mental jump has to be made.
“I think we need to address the conflict that President Ramotar said, the world is falling into two blocs. That should not happen. We have to have a situation where the United States and European nations stop this geopolitical nonsense and say we cooperate with the Global Majority. If the countries of the Global South are now finally after 600 years of colonialism intending to build their own system which allows for their economic development; we should not fight it, we should support it.”
September 8 marked the 102nd birthday of Lyndon LaRouche—the world-historic statesman and the most accurate economic forecaster of his time. There is no one whose life and contributions stand more at the center of current world history than LaRouche, and at the same time whose enemies tried harder to silence, slander, and eliminate him. As the current world system is in a process of breakdown, shifting from the post-World War II order to a new, post-colonial architecture (if we survive such a transition), there is no one whose work will play a more definitive role in determining the success of a new system than Lyndon LaRouche—whose legacy is currently being carried forward by his wife, Helga Zepp-LaRouche.
The LaRouche movement has for decades been addressing the world’s historical direction from the highest level, including the higher vision of development that makes it possible to resolve the crises in Southwest Asia. The International Peace Coalition, convened by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, is taking on the task of galvanizing efforts to stop war, while presenting at the same time the parameters of an active, energetic peace worthy of the inherent dignity of our human species.

The results of the Sept. 1 elections in Thuringia and Saxony indicate the re-emergence of a peace movement in Germany, even if not definitive nor widespread. The points in common across winning parties in eastern Germany yesterday were: No, to continued weapons to Ukraine; and Yes, to restoring diplomacy to resolve the crisis.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche, leader of the Schiller Institute, said today, “The election results in two of the eastern German states are a whopping demonstration that the war party can be caused to suffer a setback, and it should be an encouraging sign for everybody who wants to oppose the direct road to World War III, on which we are very far gone already. I think that that is, for sure, the most important event over the weekend, and also, I should say, it is the re-emergence of the peace movement in Germany, which I think is also quite hopeful.”
In the U.S., now that universities have resumed the school year, students are again demonstrating against genocide in Gaza. In the last week, actions occurred at the University of Michigan, Cornell, and in Southern California.
Yesterday demonstrations took place across Germany for Sept. 1 “Anti-War Day,” marking the date in 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland. Most anti-war actions were a few hundred people, with a few thousands in some cities, including Berlin and Munich.
A special cross-link action between the U.S. and Europe is shown by the video-message to the German people, played at the Munich rally, from Scott Ritter, former U.S. Marine and UN weapons inspector. It was very well received among the crowd of some 3,500. Saying, “Look back to your history,” Ritter reported in detail on the huge demonstrations in Germany in the 1980s against placement of U.S. missiles in Germany, and what led to the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. He ended by addressing today’s extreme danger of allowing U.S. missiles in Germany in 2026. He received spontaneous applause. “Do not allow these missiles on German soil! Do the right thing. Take to the streets! It worked then. It will work today!”
On the side of the Western war paradigm, on Sept. 6, the Ukraine Defense Contract Group meets in Ramstein, Germany, hosted by U.S. Defense Secretary Gen. Lloyd Austin, to pow-wow on how to make more weapons, kill more Ukrainians and attack Russia. We are at the danger point of provoking nuclear war.
It must be stopped. The platform is at hand in the International Peace Coalition, with its weekly world conference sessions, for the breakout into the force needed to draw back from the threat of nuclear extinction, into a future of beautiful growth.
