The joint authors of this periodical report are the World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization. Among the 20 nations listed as in need for &#8220;urgent aid,&#8221; the WFP press release on the report stated that &#8220;Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan and Yemen remain at \u2018highest alert\u2019 as hotspots with catastrophic conditions, and Afghanistan and Somalia are new entries to this worrisome category since the last hotspots report in January 2022.
